What can I expect when I arrive on a Sunday morning?

Our connections cafe opens at 8:00 AM for those who want to enjoy a social time and some excellent coffee before the service. First time visitors will receive a coupon for a free drink to use at the connections cafe coffee bar before or after the service.  Our greeters will be there to welcome you and answer any questions you may have about Encounter Church. Children from nursery through 5th grade can check in and go directly to their class at the beginning of service, and will remain in class through the entire service. Our Ushers will be happy to assist you and direct you upon your arrival.

What are your Sunday services like?

Encounter Church offers a friendly atmosphere with contemporary worship music and an excellent, relevant message. The words to our worship music are on a large screen at the front of the sanctuary during our worship time and the main scripture references will be shown on the screen during the message. Children are encouraged in a loving, quality nursery and offered an enjoyable learning experience in our Encounter Park children’s service.

What should I expect when I visit for the first time?

We understand that most individuals desire to be anonymous for a while and we are OK with that. We will warmly welcome you, however you will not be asked do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. We also realize everyone has individual ways of expressing their worship to God and we are fine with you participating at the level where you feel comfortable. We’d love to have you make this church your home, however we understand  that not every church is a good fit for every person. Our goal is to help you find a place where you feel you belong. So come, check us out, and if our church is not the right fit for you, we may be able to help you locate a church that meets your needs.

What should I wear to your Sunday services?

You will find everything from casual clothes to business attire at our services. Please wear what is comfortable for you. At Encounter Church we care about you, not your clothing choice.

Encounter Church is located at 300 Hideaway Drive, Quarryville, PA. Please use the map link to find exact directions.

Is there anything offered for my children?

At Encounter Church your children are of utmost importance. All of our staff are required to have a background check. We also use a child check in system for added security. We offer two nurseries and welcome you to get to know our loving, caring workers.  We are also happy to have you stay with your little one if that is what you desire.

For children 5 through 5th grade we offer a vibrant children’s ministry called Encounter Park. We offer a Young Warriors class for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade children during the message time on Sunday mornings. Our Youth Group for 7th through 12th grade young adults meet on Wednesday evenings.

What is a life group?

We offer many different life group options and everyone is welcome. Life groups meet at different times and in many different locations. We are sure there is one that is right for you. Please see the life group tab on our church app for details on each particular group or feel free to stop by the bulletin board in our lobby to find more information. You can also call 717-786-2756 to speak to our church administrator for more information. We believe connection groups are a great way to receive the fellowship, support and teaching that we all need.

What is a connection group?

Connection groups are ways to connect with other people by spending time with each other in areas of interest.  Current active groups include Hiking, Golf and a Men’s group. Schedules and meeting times can be found posted in the church lobby or on our church app. New groups are forming all the time so please check in regularly for updated information.
