Smart Giving Instructions:
To securely make a donation, text GIVE to 717-687-2110. You’ll be asked to register with a credit/debit card your first time. Don’t forget to save the number in your phone. You can always text EDIT to update your information, set up a recurring donation, and check the status of a gift.
How long does it take for the organization to receive my donation?
When you make a donation we immediately provide the information about that donation to the receiving organization. We also send that donation as a deposit into their bank account that evening. That means it usually takes about 2-3 days between when you make a donation and when it is in the organizations bank account. This is equivalent or faster than other forms of online giving.
Does it cost me anything?
There is no charge for you to make a donation. Standard text messaging and data rates apply just like every time you send a text message or use the internet on your phone.
Is my information sent in a text message?
We never send any personal or financial information via text message. We simply facilitate the donations. Your personal and financial information is always encrypted and stored securely.
Is my credit/debit card information secure?
Yes. All sensitive financial information is stored with bank-level security. All information is encrypted and stored by our banking partner to Level 1 PCI compliant standards. Level 1 PCI compliance is a set of rules stated by credit card companies and audited by an independent third party, Level 1 PCI is the highest possible rating. Additionally, all transmissions to our banking partner and on our site is via an encrypted HTTPS connection.
How will my phone number be used?
Your phone number is used only to make donating as easy as possible. It will never be sold, traded, or given out. You will only be texted to confirm your donations and for no other reason.
How will I know when my credit card is charged?
Anytime your card is charged you will receive both an email and a text message confirmation from Kindrid.
What if I accidentally type the wrong amount?
When you make a donation, you will receive a text confirmation that re-states the amount given. If you made a mistake in typing you can respond with the word REFUND within the first 15 minutes and your credit or debit card will not be charged. After 30 minutes you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and a refund can be issued for you.
Is it case sensitive? Do I have to put a “$” symbol?
No! Donations will work as 100 or $100 or $100.00 or 100.00 etc. Also there is nothing that is case sensitive.
How do I unlink my smartphone from mobile giving?
If you wish to close your account or change your phone number please email email@example.com
How do I edit my information?
If you need to change your credit card information, name, or email address simply text the word EDIT to your church’s Smart Giving number.
What is the phone number I text and whose is it?
The phone number you are texting is a secure number that belongs to the organization you are donating to. It is used exclusively for this purpose.
What is Kindrid?
Kindrid is an organization dedicated to making giving easier. We are using Kindrid to process our text donations.
Is there anything else I should know?
