Children's Ministry
Volunteer Based for Youth 2-12 YearsAt Encounter Kids we love all children, champion each other’s gifts the Lord gives, we celebrate their growing relationships with Jesus, then we repeat. I believe there is no junior Holy Spirit and children of any age can experience the love and freedom that a relationship with Jesus gives. If you spend any time with the volunteers from Encounter Kids you will quickly learn that we are like confetti. Not just because confetti is fun and exciting but because it is a metaphor for how we chose to walk life with one another as we serve at Encounter Kids. As a family we believe in championing the discipleship of kids and families. We cheer each other on as we are obedient to Christ’s call in our lives. The awesome thing about confetti is that it tends to stick around long after the popper has been popped. In the same way at Encounter Kids we strive to ensure that the joy and love in our interactions with everyone will stick long after the encounter. At Encounter Kids we celebrate all children, genuinely love each other as we use our unique giftings, and cheer one another on during this race of faith. We are the confetti culture of Encounter Church and we desire to throw confetti on as many children and families for the kingdom of Jesus. Mission and Values
God Encounter
At Encounter Kids we believe that God can encounter everyone from the youngest to the oldest. We believe that each child can encounter God and watch him “show up” in their own lives.
The Word of God
We believe that the Bible holds absolute truth. Everything we teach at Encounters Kid’s is to be bible based and what directs our lives and teaching each week. We currently use the curriculum “Wonderink.” Each week we focus on a “Wonder Truth” that is taken out of the word of God so that children can have God’s words written on their hearts.
Holy Spirit
We acknowledge the Father, Son and Holy Spirit at Encounter Kids. We believe that God is still moving and speaking in our day. We believe that God speaks to children and imparts them with gifts of the Holy Spirit. There is no junior holy spirit. At Encounter Kids we focus on teaching the children to be able to hear the voice of the Lord for their own selves.
Family
We believe that the foundation of Jesus is started within the home. We want to be used by God as a vessel to build upon the foundation that is being laid at home. At Encounter Kids we are a larger part of that family. We value family and want all children to feel as if they can come as they are and be part of God’s larger family. Multiple times throughout the year we will take a break from “regular kids church” and have a big family party with all the teachers and kids.
Transformation
As God works through Encounter Kid’s Church we believe that children’s lives should be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to see a ripple effect of children’s transformed lives where it goes back to the home, community, and the nations. We believe that a child’s transformed life in Jesus has the ability to change the trajectory of the future. We shift a culture by building Godly character in our children.
Fun
Fun is the “language” of children, and we will strive to “speak” that language! We will be creative, fun, engaging and imaginative in all we do and teach. At Encounter Kids we enjoy crafts, playing games and finding joy and fun while we worship our King, Jesus.
Safety
We strive to create environments that are safe, sanitary and soothing for children of all ages. We strive to thoroughly screen, train and equip all adults ministering to children. We will strive to protect children from harm. We have a secured basement that after your child gets dropped off, we lock those doors so that all the children are safe. If your child needs you during the service there are ushers that can unlock the basement during the service. The doors unlock after each service.
